Good stuff, Bill. The Flyers should have a very potent offense this season.

Hopefully they can score more than they give up most nights.

I can't wait to see the Flyers play this year with Vinny in the fold! Potentially a very good top six, I'm with you in that I see him around a 60 point guy. But 70+ is not out of the realm of possibility.

i'm excited for vinny. i just want him to stay healthy and provide nice, slow, steady scoring and leadership. consistency is key in having this team rebound to get in and be ready for the playoffs.

i also keep forgetting adam hall is on this team.

Lecavalier has been and still is a much better overall player than Briere. Briere is a great human being but he needed a map and a GPS to find the defensive zone. He focused on offense 100% and needed to be surrounded by players who could cover for him defensively. On top of that he took many questionable stick penalties.

Lecavalier may or may not outscore Briere but he'll have a much bigger impact in other areas on the ice. An argument could be made that when Briere wasn't scoring he was hurting the team by not contributing in other ways.

In that case a Briere - Desharnais - Gionta line would probably be the worst defensive unit in the history of the NHL

At least you have last year's Norris winner on defense to help clean up mistakes.

I was hoping the Flyers would give Schenn one more year at center to prove himself, but that's probably a lost cause at this point.

Nevertheless, I want to see them keep Schenn at wing if Vinny gets hurt. He needs to stay at one position for the entire season. I feel the constant moving around has hurt his development. He hasn't even played more than 54 games in a season. Give this kid a chance to get comfortable and play with some real two-way players (no offense to Briere).

Everyone is aware that Briere had shortcomings on the defensive side of the ice. But he was a big game player who scored a lot of big goals and points for the Flyers. I'll take a player like that in the lineup anytime. It takes a mixture of players to build a quality team.

In order for this team to be successful, there needs to be a coaching change. As much as I like Lavy, i see his system failing again this year. Personally i think you need another pronger type on defense to make his system work.

I won't be shocked if Vinny moves onto Giroux's wing occaisonally and Schenn goes back to Center every once and awhile.

If they can somehow stop sending three forwards deep even after the puck has been played out of the zone...then they will probably be ok.

A lot of you guys seem like older people so I am guess not a lot of you play NHL 13 but one thing I have noticed and can't stand is every time I play the Flyers and see Vinny he is wearing number 30 and it is just disgusting lol Not sure if any one else had that problem when they moved Vinny to the Flyers or not.

Happy to the news about Couturier's offseason workouts. I think the kid is going to be a 2 way beast who will eventually fill out to 215lbs or so and be one the best shutdown centers in the league. I think he has potential to be a bigger, and perhaps a bit more skilled version of Guy Carbonneau and if so, the Flyers are lucky to have him.

Me neither.

Quick aside, with respect to Vinny.

The Flyers like to do that creepily bad photoshop work where they put newly acquired players in a Flyers uniform in all the marketing materials despite the player never having played with the Flyers.

The Flyers tickets they give to season ticket holders have various players on them and Vinny, in his awkwardly photoshopped Flyers uniform, is no exception.

The real problem? They went to all the trouble of photoshopping a Flyers uni on Vinny, but did NOT make Vinny the guy on the ticket for the Tampa games.

WTF?
